About AMC

Agoura Math Circle is a free educational program focusing on the problem-solving skills that lead students to success in both academics and the real world.

The Agoura Math Circle is a student-run, nonprofit community service organization. More importantly, Agoura Math Circle gives students confidence and the skills to tackle any type of problem, academic or otherwise.Our Goal is to create strong foundation for kids to increase critical thinking and motivate kids to aim for top universities in a fun full environment.AMC has more than 200 students with more than 15 volunteers.

Pranav Kalyan founded the Agoura Math Circle in September 2015. He is an 9th grader at Agoura High School in Agoura Hills. Pranav has received Associates Degree in Mathematics and in Natural Science from Moorpark College in May 2016. He also has received a letter of recognition from President Barack Obama regarding his work with fellow students as the founder of the Agoura Math Circle on September 30, 2016.

Pranav is a 9th grader at Agoura High School in Agoura Hills. He earned Mathmatics and Natural Science Associate Degree from Moorpark College in May, 2016. He is pursuing the "Associate Degree in Astrophysics and Physics " at Moorpark College. Visit My Website.

Joshna Jude Jose

Vice President

Joshna is a junior at Oak Park High School. She is very involved in STEM, volunteering for non-profit science education organizations, taking college science courses during her summers, and completing higher level math and science courses. She loves to apply her knowledge to benefit other students. Joshna hopes to pursue a career in medicine, more specifically pediatrics.

Anna Johnson

Vice President

Anna Johnson is a freshman at Agoura High School. She love math and science- immersing myself in everything from medical courses at U.C. Irvine and local internships, to online math courses offered by M.I.T and helping tutor children in mathematics as well. She love working with kids, and she has lots of experience with teaching and public speaking-- from tutoring the elementary school kids, being a T.A. for beginning string players, the debate and mock trial team, and running my own clubs. Her favorite hobby is playing music--- specifically violin and piano--- which she has been playing since she was very little. Her favorite thing about math is how logical it is, and the satisfaction associated with being able to comprehend, analyze, and solve difficult problems, and teaching others how to do so as well.

Austin is a freshman at Agoura High School.He has participated in many math competitions, such as the AMC 8 and the Math Counts Competition. He wants students to be able to look at and understand math in a different, more logical and analytical way, so they can use math both in the real world and at school.

Sonali Murugan

Vice President

Sonali is a senior at Oak Park High School. She has many volunteer hours from and various locations and is very passionate about offering tutoring services for children. Her hobbies include cooking and painting. She loves teaching and hopes to pursue a career in Biological Sciences.

Dr. Bharat Patel


Dr. Bharat Patel is the diamond donor for Agoura Math Circle.He founded ALAPIO which is an acronym for Association of Los Angeles Physicians of Indian Origin.  This non-profit association works to raise funds to provide free medical aid for the underprivileged.

Diallo Wallace


Diallo Wallace is an Aerospace Engineer (orbital analyst) predicting and executing station keeping maneuvers for several satellites in the Geosynchronous-Belt region. He is a former Naval Aviator having flown helicopters all over the world. He is a state credentialed teacher for career education and training for high school students in Aerospace Sciences and Engineering. As an instructor for more than 15 years, Diallo has instructed at the elementary, junior high, and high school levels and has taught college courses in Mathematics (Algebra to Post Calculus) to Electrical Engineering. He holds a Master Degree in Astronautical Engineering and a second Master in Project Management. Diallo passion is to bring an understanding of subjects in the areas of science through the use of Mathematics.

Math teacher at LVUSD (Las Virgenes Unified School District). Completed Bachelor of Science in Finance and General from Indiana University. Joe has an inescapable passion to create a learning environment that is timeless, physically boundless, nurturing and empowers students and parents. Joe desires every student to live passionately, think creatively, expect excellence from themselves, recognize the beauty to look, see and be seen, and to control their lives from their position of authority. For the past 14 years working as teacher in Lindero Canyon Middle School. She has a BA Degree in Mathematics from UCLA, obtained her CA Single Subject Teaching Credential in Mathematics from CSUN and completed MS Degree in Education from Walden University, specializing in integrating technology in the curriculum. Having 19 years of professional experience as developer , consultant, tester and as a lead performance tester. Father of two kids. Who are also enrolled in Agoura Math Circle.

Chitra Jayaraman

Vice President

Chitra Jayaraman has a Computer Science and Engineering degree from renowned Madurai Kamaraj University, India topping the University. She is an almost 20 years old in software development. With a constant quest to learn and enrich self, she loves spending her time playing chess and Math with her 12 and 6 year old kids.

Jonathan Woodbury


Jonathan Woodbury is an astrometer, physicist, climate scientist, and software developer. Jonathan spent a year in the Antarctic studying cosmic rays including ten days at the South Pole working on solar helioseismology. He also worked as a climate scientist for the US EPA and IPCC where he estimated U.S. and international methane emission inventories. He also helped develop the first U.N. IPCC methods for estimating methane emissions from many sources. Jonathan holds degrees from Swarthmore College and the University of Chicago. More Info.

Jonathan Yan is an EE engineer, 3D CAD system architect and software developer. His interest include system architecture and design, parallel processing, design pattern, information storage and retrieval, machine learning and etc. Jonathan holds degrees from Iowa State University and Tsinghua University.
